The IUVA requests abstracts for oral and poster presentations for the 2025 IUVA World Congress, taking place September 7-10, 2025, at the Lisbon Marriott Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal.

With increasing challenges in air and surface disinfection, including the rise of emerging infectious diseases, drinking water safety, water reuse, wastewater treatment, air pollution, hospital-acquired infections, ballast water treatment, and industrial effluents, UV technologies are rapidly finding new applications. This conference will spotlight the latest advancements in UV technology and research, tackling today's critical environmental, health, and process treatment issues. Additionally, we will explore trends in UV regulations and emerging applications, including how UV disinfection can support more efficient water use where water reuse is critical to sustainable operations.

Abstracts should be submitted online by MARCH 31, 2025. The abstract length is 200-300 words (no figures) and should include full contact information for the corresponding author. After the authors are notified of acceptance, they will be required to submit a document for the proceedings in one of the following formats (The requirements for each format will be announced at a later date):

• Presentation slides

Abstracts accepted for oral presentation will include a 15-20 minute oral presentation followed by 5 minutes of questions. Oral presentations are to be of a scientific, technical, and educational nature. Commercial presentations are not acceptable, except for the special Industrial Showcase session (see below).
