Why This Meeting Matters: Advancing GUV for Public Health and Preparedness

Ensuring Effective Pathogen Inactivation—Reviewing the state-of-the-art in GUV microorganism inactivation helps confirm that current methods are effective and identifies areas for improvement. This is crucial for deploying reliable disinfection strategies in healthcare settings, public spaces, and air/water treatment systems.

Addressing Variability and Data Gaps – Identifying the sources of variability and inconsistencies in existing data ensures that GUV technology is applied consistently and effectively across various environments. Without an understanding of these variations, the technology may be less effective or misapplied, potentially resulting in suboptimal protection.

Improving Reliability and Confidence in Data—Developing methods to achieve repeatable, high-confidence data ensures that researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders can trust GUV's effectiveness for disinfection. This is critical for integrating GUV into regulations, public health guidelines, and commercial applications.

Establishing Standards for Widespread Adoption – Publishing validated data and setting standards will facilitate the adoption of GUV technology by providing clear guidelines for its use. This standardization aids in obtaining regulatory approvals, supports industry best practices, and enhances broader implementation in pandemic preparedness and public health initiatives.

Why We Need You To Attend

Your participation is crucial in identifying critical metrology needs and developing actionable plans to enhance pandemic preparedness, improve public health, and strengthen economic vitality through healthier communities. By working together, we can advance the effectiveness of germicidal UV (GUV) technology in controlling infectious diseases, improving indoor air quality, and driving public health and economic resilience. Your expertise and insights will help shape the future of GUV standards, ensuring reliable, science-based solutions for a safer, healthier world.
