![]() | Deborah Martinez - Executive Director Deborah Martinez is the Executive Director of the International Ultraviolet Association (IUVA) in Washington, D.C. She provides leadership, strategic guidance and management for the daily operations of IUVA. Martinez encourages students to achieve college goals in science, technology, engineering and math through her work with MentorNet. Prior to IUVA she was Director of Programs for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers in Alexandria, VA. She has held senior level positions with the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) and the American Dental Education Association and served as Executive Director of the Society of Geriatric Cardiology. Ms. Martinez holds a B.A. from Howard University. She has earned credentials from the American Society of Association Executives in Certified Financial and Operational Management and Certified Meetings Professionals. |
![]() | Andreas Kolch, Ph.D. - EMEA Hub Director Dr. Andreas Kolch is the EMEA Hub Director for the International Ultraviolet Association (IUVA) and is the Managing Director and Partner of HYTECON GmbH. Prior to this role, he was Chief Technology Officer with ITT Wedeco and R&D Director of Wedeco GmbH. From 2005-2007 Dr. Kolch was president of IUVA, and was a member of various international working groups establishing standards for UV water treatment technologies. He is a water market expert with a focus on advanced treatment and disinfection technologies. He has been on the Editorial Board of Ozone Science and Engineering and the Journal of the International Ozone Association since 2009. In 2010, Dr. Kolch became a technical advisory board member of APT Water Inc. in California. In addition to holding a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Bonn, Dr. Kolch is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt from the University of Michigan and employs a wide variety of management processes and tools. ![]() | Professor Wenjun Liu - Asia Hub Director Professor Wenjun Liu is the Director of the Asia Hub for the International Ultraviolet Association. He is a distinguished scientist and scholar in the field of drinking water treatment. Wenjun Liu is currently a professor and a vice chair of the School of Environment, Tsinghua University, where he obtained his Ph.D in 1999. He has published over 100 journal papers and three academic books on the subject of water treatment and authored some chapters of two handbooks of design for water treatment processes. Wenjun Liu is also the recipient of awards for his work. The most recent include the Best UV Engineering Project of 2010 and the Zhantianyou Civil Engineering Award of China (2009), which is the top award in Civil Engineering in China. ![]() | Rosemary Estrada Aguirre - Program Manager Rosemary Estrada Aguirre is an Executive Assistant at the International Ultraviolet Association. Prior to joining IUVA, Mrs. Aguirre worked in the non-profit sector specializing in program development, technical report writing and internship management.
