Association of American Colleges and Universities Meeting

The Association of American Colleges and Universities hosted its annual meeting in Washington this past week. IUVA Executive Director Deborah Martinez participated in the Diverse Issues in Higher Education Magazine-sponsored session, titled “The Critical Role of Mentoring in Increasing Graduates and Faculty of Color.” Ms. Martinez, pictured here with Dr. Juan E. Gilbert, Professor and Chair of the Division of Human Centered Computing in the School of Computer at Clemson University, spoke of the importance of mentors and roles and responsibilities they have with mentoring students within the STEM arena.
